Eye drops / artificial tears
Artificial tears are developed for users of contact lenses and for those who spend a lot of time in front of a screen (computers, tv, smartphones, tablets, etc.), because they prevent and reduce dryness of the eyes, and provide greater freshness and hydration.
Artificial tears are lubricating eye drops that supplement natural tears to relieve dryness, irritation, and discomfort, commonly used for dry eye syndrome, eye strain from screens, environmental factors, or after eye surgery. They work by adding moisture and stabilizing the tear film, with options available in preservative-free (for frequent use) and preservative-containing formulas (for occasional use).
Otica Iberica sell artificial tears as eye drops or spray.
Artificial tears may be useful in situations where you sit a lot in front of a screen, or if you live in a region where the weather is very dry. You should take into account the season of the year (spring and winter), if your eyes are exposed to pollution and smoke, nightlife, or if you work in air-conditioned environments. All these situations may require the use of artificial tears.
Artificial tears may or may not contain preservatives, and this is directly related to how long you can safely use (the bottle of) artificial tears. For artificial tears that contain preservatives, you should not use the product more than 4 to 6 times a day. If the artificial tears you are using does not have preservatives, then you can use the product for example every 30 minutes a day .
Always keep in mind that if the artificial tears are to be used with contact lenses in your eyes, then the composition of the artificial tears cannot be oil-based.
